Personalized nutrition care, made accessible with insurance coverage and flexible packages
Pay as little as $0 out of pocket for nutrition care.
We’re proud to offer nutrition appointments covered by major insurance providers, including UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Sheild.
Don’t have these insurance plans? Not a problem! If your plan isn’t in-network, we provide superbills for out-of-network coverage and offer flexible package options!
Yes! Our patients have access to nutrition counseling for both virtual and in-person appointments as an in-network benefit through their insurance, often with low or no copays.
If you have an out-of-network plan, you may be eligible for reimbursement for our nutrition counseling services, provided your plan offers out-of-network coverage. It’s important to understand your specific benefits and any financial responsibilities you might have for our services.
We know firsthand that dealing with insurance companies can be confusing. Don’t worry—we’re here to help.
Your allowed amount is the maximum your plan will pay for a covered healthcare service. It is also called an “eligible expense,” “payment allowance,” or “negotiated rate.” You may have to pay the difference if your provider charges more than the plan’s allowed amount.
A deductible is a form of cost-sharing where your insurance company does not start paying for in-network care until you have paid the deductible amount yourself in full. Let’s say you have a $1,000 deductible. You will pay for your nutrition counseling sessions in full until you have accumulated $1,000 worth of medical charges. Usually, deductibles reset every policy year.
Preventive care is routine health care that can include annual wellness check-ups, screenings, tests, counseling, flu shots, and vaccinations. For some plans, nutrition counseling falls under preventive care. Some plans will have 100% coverage for preventive care, so service is at no cost to the patient; other plans will require a copay or coinsurance to cover preventive care and might have other limits (such as the number of sessions covered).
A superbill is a detailed list of services provided by a health care provider to a patient, and is used for out-of-network health care billing. The superbill includes diagnosis and procedure codes, and other important information that your insurance company needs in order to reimburse you for your out-of-network services. When you receive a superbill, submit it to your insurance company to get reimbursed directly. Always check if you can get reimbursed for out-of-network services!
Some plans have coinsurance, a form of cost-sharing that allows you to split the cost of care between you and your insurance company. Most insurance plans with coinsurance require you to pay a percentage of the cost of care after you’ve met your deductible. For example, let’s say your allowed amount for an office visit is $100, and your coinsurance is 20%. If you’ve already met your deductible, then you will owe 20% of $100, or $20, with your insurance company paying the rest. If you have not yet met your deductible, then you will pay the full allowed amount.

We recommend calling your insurance provider directly to confirm your benefits. You can ask if nutrition counseling is covered under your plan and whether you have any copays, deductibles, or session limits. We are in-network with UHC, Anthem, Cigna, and Aetna, but coverage varies based on your specific plan.
When calling your insurance, ask if Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) is covered or if you have preventative care benefits under the codes 97802/97803. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at info@onenutritiongroup.com, and we’d be happy to assist!
If your insurance changes, please notify us as soon as possible. You can send a copy of your new insurance information to our email info@onenutritiongroup.com, and we’ll help determine if your new plan covers nutrition counseling.
If you have secondary insurance, we can assist in coordinating benefits. Let us know both your primary and secondary insurance details, and we’ll help determine how coverage applies to your sessions.
If your insurance does not cover nutrition counseling, we offer self-pay options and packages to ensure you still receive the support you need. We can also provide a superbill upon request, which you may submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
At this time, we do not accept Medicare. However, we are happy to discuss self-pay options or provide guidance on alternative coverage options.
